Pregnant Woman's Weight Too Low is Dangerous

Some women may still want a thin body when pregnant. Even though being underweight in pregnant women can have a negative impact on the health of the mother and fetus. In general, during pregnancy the mother's body weight increases 13-15 kg from the initial body weight. But for pregnant women who have low body weight, namely with a body mass index (BMI) below 18.5, it is necessary to add weight. Various Health Risks That Can Arise In addition to wanting to stay thin, being underweight during pregnancy can also be caused by morning sickness. This condition can make pregnant women nausea and vomiting, thus losing their appetite. As a result, body weight was reduced. If left unchecked, being underweight during pregnancy can cause malnutrition. Malnutrition during pregnancy, can increase the risk of pregnancy complications, such as miscarriage, anemia, increase the risk of babies experiencing underweight, and babies born prematurely.
